About the Bradford-Sullivan Early Childhood Coalition

The Bradford-Sullivan Early Childhood Coalition offers infomration about quality early care services and resources for families, businesses and the community.  Research shows that high-quality childcare has a positive effect on children - particularly at-risk children.  The goal of the Early Childhood Coalition is to educate communities in understanding the importance of quality early childhood education and assist families in obtaining these quality programs.  The Coalition stakeholders consist of dedicated individuals representing state and local government agencies, local non-profits agencies, businesses, schools, childcare providers and parents.  Members strive to make a difference in our counties and to ensure every child is successful in school.

The Bradford-Sullivan Early Childhood Coalition is committed to increasing collaboration among agencies, school, families, and early learning practitioners to enhance appropriate develomental and early learning opportunities for all children.

Quality Early Childhood Education in Bradford & Sullivan Counties

Through the state Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL), PA invests in a number of programs serving more than 300,000 of PA's children and families. 

OCDEL Programs include:

Child Care Works - provides financial assistance for child care so that low income parents can continue to work and provide for their families. 

                                        Learning early

Early Intervention - provides children from birth to five with developmental delays with services to help maximize their development so they are successful in any early education setting. 

Head Start - provides comprehensive early learning services to children and families who are at risk for academic failure.

Learning Letters

Keystone STARS - supports child care and Head Start programs that are committed to continuous quality improvement and offers families a valuable tool to gauge.

Nurse-Family Partnership - helps first-time at-risk parents experience healthy pregnancies, learn how to take good care of their babies, and make plans for the future. 

PA PreK Counts - provides high-quality pre-kindergarten opportunities to 3 and 4 year olds who are at risk for school failure.
